Chicago Paris Mashup

Chicago to Paris

My photos seem to be a bit popular lately. This is the second of three to be featured on other websites recently. The first was this one and I’ll post the other soon.

The photo is a composite of two that I had taken. The Chicago photo was from our trip in August and the Paris photo from February 1991. While we were walking around the city I saw this and remembered the Paris photo. So I took the shot. When I posted the Chicago shot, it was suggested that I combine the two. I had to stretch and shrink parts of the originals, but the end result was pretty good. You’ll notice that the Eiffel Tower grew a few meters and that the Amoco Building in Chicago shrunk a hundred feet.

This photo was featured here on the Chicagoist. The Chicagoist is a group blog with commentary on recent happenings in the city. It’s quite similar to my alma mater Metroblogging Montreal, though they seem to quite a bit more into it. I used to follow the Chicagoist, but I cut them loose since they average about five posts a day and that became too much for me to keep up with. Plus at some point commentary on lesser goings-on is not as interesting if it’s not local to your location.
